The Constitution of Swimming New Zealand is our governing framework document. The key objects in the constitution are as follows:
  • To encourage swimming, water safety, water education, water recreation and swimming competition in New Zealand.
  • To provide good governance for the sport of swimming in New Zealand.
  • To affiliate with and recognise FINA as the international governing body of the sport of swimming, open water swimming, diving, water polo, synchronised swimming and masters swimming.
  • To provide assistance to regional associations and clubs with the administration and financial management of the sport of swimming in New Zealand.

The SNZ regulations and policies sit underneath the constitution and help to define various areas of business within SNZ to ensure consistency and transparency.

SNZ has 16 regional centres that organise regional competitions and assist the 181 clubs nationwide.

Swimming New Zealand membership is comprised of members of affiliated clubs and the members of the New Zealand Swim Coaches and Teachers Association.
