Train the Trainer
The world of sport and education is continually evolving. It is important that we upgrade our teaching techniques to keep pace with these changes.
On this course we endeavour to give you a basic knowledge of the principles of good instruction. You will learn the Principles of Adult Education, systems for lesson planning, the use of AV equipment and strategies for choosing appropriate methods of instruction for professional presentations.
This will give you a good start but you will need to continually learn as you present more courses in the future.
Adults are special learners and your abilities to create learning environments will be challenged. Adults compare the messages they are getting with their own frame of reference and experiences. To be effective you must understand that their may need to be some ‘un-learning’ or provisional learning before your group will embrace the principles you are trying to impart.
Adults learn a great deal from one another. Your skills as a group facilitator, in creating encouraging environments, where interaction is fostered in a friendly setting, will be essential for success.
Learning to be a good instructor is as much about preparing yourself to deal with learners needs as it is about your teaching style and equipment. While you are on the course you are learning as an adult, so enjoy and experience the environment yourself.
Train the Trainer will be held at 2006 School of Coaching. See enrolment forms for details.
