Swimmers
International Tour Appointments
SNZ selects representative teams to all major international and many developmental competitions. In addition funding support is given to SNZ Squad-qualified swimmers to other competitions and training camps. Support can range from full costs being covered (Pinnacle events), to seed + incentive funding (e.g. World Cups where, say, airfares are covered and remaining costs can be “won back” depending on performances at the competition), to partial support (percentage of the costs covered). Prize monies won at funded competitions (e.g. World Cups) is wholly retained by the swimmer. Selection criteria for all competitions is here.

Performance Enhancement Grants for Athletes (PEGs)
PEGs are awarded for performances at each year’s Pinnacle event:

These awards are in addition to any other prize money available at the competitions (e.g. FINA awards $15,000US for each World record at the 2006 WSC). Swimmers setting NZ Open or Age Group records are awarded certificates suitable for framing commemorating their achievement.
