State AquaBlacks

State AquaBlacks is the brand name for Swimming New Zealand’s Olympic Games International Representative Team.

Selection

* State AquaBlacks will be identified following the NZ Open Long Course Championships annually.  

* Individuals and Relay swimmers who meet the selection criteria as outlined on the SNZ website will be named as a State AquaBlack.

* Each swimmer, coach and support team member who is selected as part of the SNZ International Pinnacle Event Team will become a State AquaBlack.

* Pinnacle events are: Olympics, World LC Championships, Pan Pacific Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Terms and Conditions applied to being a State AquaBlack are:

* Personal commitment to swimming with distinction at every International Event;

* Commitment to tracking forward from selection point to international point;

* Commitment to attitudes and behaviours which bring honour to the brand;

* Commitment to the responsibilities of being a positive role model in our sport;

* Commit to attend and support, by presence, two SNZ events annually;

* Commit to wearing the SNZ State AquaBlacks uniform at all National Team Events and Camps.
