Swimming Australia are hosting this event, and is a great opportunity for our swimmers to compete against the World's best in this discipline.  All our top Open Water swimmers will be competing here with the aim to qualify for a number of events this year - World Champs/Pan Pacs/Junior Pan Pacs and Oceania.

ANY SWIMMERS ATTENDING THIS EVENT WHO WISH TO BE SELECTED FOR ANY NZ TEAMS THIS YEAR WILL NEED TO SWIM IN THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN TRIAL EVENTS - 5/10KM

All entries for this event need to come from Club secretaries to Lisa Conroy on lisa@swimmingnz.org.nz by 31st January 2010.  As Swimming Australia are now on Meet Manager 3, and us all on MM2 they are not combatible programmes, so entry info in an email will be fine.  Please put times and place times were taken in info, along with name/club/registration/DOB/events entered as this needs to be verified by SNZ before sending. Final entries need to be with Swimming Australia by 5pm on 5th February, so no late entries will be accepted.  Entries are $30 AUD per event, and will need to be converted by the selling rate and sent to SNZ by cheque or into our account below with a name reference:

Any swimmer attending this meet needs to do the following:

• Complete a travel authorisation form (available on our website under competition banner - standard forms), signed by the region and sent to Marge Hocken SNZ Adminstrator, who will then send onto Swimming Australia and send a copy back to the region when finalised.
• Ensure all TUE (Therapeutic Use Exemption) forms are up to date with Drug Free Sport NZ as well as any whereabouts info and FINA Location forms
• NO photo is necessary for Open water events - have just had confirmation from Swimming Australia

NOTE: All swimmers attending this event, need to contact Philip Rush (SNZ Open Water Programme Manager) at the Epic Swim Event in Taupo this weekend to update him on your agenda.
