The 2005 Swimming New Zealand Commonwealth Trials are being held in Auckland from 6-10th December 2005. As the qualifying and selection competition for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, this Championship is the pinnacle of the New Zealand swimming season. The team for the 8th FINA World Short Course Championships will also be selected at this competition.
