Coach - SportsCoach South Limited, Dunedin

 

SportsCoach South Limited has an agreement with the Dunedin City Council to provide Professional Swim Coaching Services at Moana Pool in Dunedin. In conjunction with the Waves Swimming Club we have revitalised competitive swimming in Dunedin.

We have experienced strong growth and are now looking for an enthusiastic person to join our coaching staff at Moana Pool in Dunedin. This position offers up to 26 hours of deck coaching per week plus additional compensation for session preparation and attendance at meets.

The SportsCoach program has put swimmers on 17 different New Zealand teams since July 2002 and with the formation of our new club, Waves Swimming, we are rapidly becoming one of the premier programs in New Zealand.

Through Otago Universities Human Performance group and the New Zealand Academy of Sport – South we are working with some of the best Sports Scientists in the country.

Junior Coach/Administrator – Parnell Swimming Club, Auckland
 
Parnell Swimming Club is seeking a full time Junior Swimming Coach/Administrator. We would like that person to work with the Head Coach developing and implementing training programs and developing young swimmers into top flight athletes. When not coaching then there are a number of administration functions that will need attention. This would ideally suite a person who has a passion for coaching and would like experience in sport administration. The role will require around 35 hours per week and this will include running some morning and afternoon sessions.
 
The position requires someone who is:
 
  • Committed and dedicated
  • Will work with the team to contribute to setting training programs
  • Continue to foster the encouraging culture that currently exists in the club
  • Be available for morning and afternoon sessions
  • Be available for swim meets
  • Attend to the administration needs of the club as well as ensuring that there is continuity between the admin functions and volunteers
 
You will need the following attributes and skills:
 
  • Have coaching experience
  • Have some administration experience although this is not essential
  • A great communicator
  • Be motivated and be motivational
  • Be a team player and work with others to implement training programs
  • Lead our swimmers to high levels of success

As the Swimways Assistant Manager you will assist the Swimways Regional Manager in the daily operations and development of the Swimways Programs delivered at the Baywave TECT Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Mount Maunganui.

You will be responsible for administration, promotional activities and on demand the delivery of Swimways programs including Swimming lessons, Schools programs, Birthday Parties and Kids Klub to a high level therefore ensuring increased registration numbers and participation.

The successful applicant will be highly organised, motivated and committed to the successful delivery of Swimways programs, and will have previous administration and management or supervisory experience.  Full training in the delivery of Swimming lessons, Kids Klub and holiday program will be provided for a positive, well organised and motivated successful applicant.  A Job Description is available upon request.

Part-time Swimming Coach - Kapiti Swimming Club

The Kapiti Swimming Club Inc. is seeking an experienced coach.  Kapiti is a small club drawing on the Waikanae and Otaki communities, training at the Otaki pool all year round. Club membership varies around 50 swimmers with a competitive squad of eight. In the past season swimmers have competed at NAGS, DIV II and Junior Nationals.  The appointee will be expected to coach throughout the club, with help of volunteer assistants.

Pool Manager - Ashburton Community Pool

An opportunity is available to lead a dedicated team living and working in a great town with an area population of approximately 28,000 and expected to increase some 10% by 2010.
 
The successful applicant needs to be customer focused, display management skills and positive leadership of a combined staff of approximately 20-25 people.  The Pool has a range of Learn-To-Swim Programmes in place and significant capability for new growth with increasing school roles and Lake Hood only 10 minutes from town. 
 
Management have recently installed ‘Splash Programme’ to assist in managing the range of programmes.  Overall Pool attendance numbers have increased significantly over the last 5 years from approximately 50,000 to 85,000 in the last year, and planning for anticipated increase to 100,000 over the next three years. 
 
Opportunity exists with a proposed new Aquatic Centre currently under discussion with the local Council.

Head Coach Position - Papamoa Swimming Club, Tauranga


Papamoa Swimming Club is looking for a Head Coach. This person must be experienced and have the skills to assist our competitive swimmers reach their potential.

This position would also include writing weekly programmes for training sessions and assisting other club coaches when necessary. Attend swim meets with our competitive swimmers and also attend registration nights to help with the placing of swimmers.
