Strategic Plan
In 2004 Swimming New Zealand launched a bold strategic plan to achieve its vision of “leading sport in 2008”. That vision will be achieved through building the capabilities to sustain the development of swimming as a recreational pursuit, a high performing sport and an important education component for all New Zealanders. Along with SPARC, the swimming community has united itself behind the strategies being implemented by Swimming New Zealand.
Swimming New Zealand's purpose is simple: swimming - winning - living
Or in other words our reason for being is that we are the organisation that represents swimming. Helping to ensure that every New Zealander swims to their potential.
Swimming New Zealand's vision is to be 'leading sport in 2008'.
Swimming New Zealand’s five key strategic goals are:
- SNZ will have a world class sport and coach development programme
- SNZ will be connected to all areas of the aquatic sector and be the undisputed swimming authority in New Zealand
- SNZ will be recognised by all stakeholders as being professional and a provider of excellent service
- To have sufficient resources that enable SNZ to achieve and deliver its vision
- SNZ is regarded as best practice in governance and leadership
Swimming New Zealand is aready making excellent progress in achieving these goals.
