Wellington to host FINA World Marathon Swim event
New Zealand has been awarded the rights to host a round of the burgeoning FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup in 2009.

New Zealand has won two medals on the final day of the FINA World Short Course Championships in Manchester today. Moss Burmester has become the first New Zealand swimmer to win an individual gold medal at the world short course championships, claiming victory in the 200m butterfly.

Five New Zealand records fell on the fourth day of the FINA World Short Course Championships in Manchester today. The 26 year old Helen Norfolk smashed her own record twice finishing sixth in the final of the 200m individual medley in another outstanding display.
